Welcome to the web site for the Rankin County Historical Society (RCHS). The RCHS was organized in 1978. Since then, the RCHS has published several books and established the Rankin County Historical Society Museum. The museum is housed in the Atkins-McRae Building, the Neely-Wilson Home, and the Goshen Springs Post Office, which have been moved onto the museum grounds.

The Rankin County Historical Society meets the second Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m. Each weekend in May and October, the RCHS holds an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The open house allows visitors to tour the buildings and also includes demonstrations such as blacksmithing, folk music, Civil War reenactors, a miller, and such.
